|Instructor Name:Mr. Dennis Stoika|
Mr. Stoika is the program director
for our Commando Krav Maga Program.
Mr. Dennis Stoika is the program director for our Commando Krav Maga Programs. His martial arts background covers a wide variety of grappling and striking arts, including Commando Krav Maga, Krav Maga, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Combat Submission Wrestling, Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Martial Arts, Kempo, Tae Kwon Do, Boxing, and Kickboxing
Mr. Stoika is certified by Moni Azik as a Level 6 Commando Krav Maga Instructor, Commando Krav Maga for Women, and Commando Krav Maga for children. He has had the privilege of training with many of the top instructors in his fields of interest.
Mr. Stoika was formerly a Certified Gracie Training Center when he first started his program as Zingg's Karate Center. Unfortunately, due to the heavy work load and time constraints from his Federal Law Enforcement career, he decided to back down to a less stressful Recognized Gracie Garage status. Even with that reduction of time, and his limited availability, and the Gracies rules governing the "Gracie Garage" program, Mr. Stoika made the difficult dicision to eliminate his Gracie Jiu-jutsu program all together, and teach only a few jiu-jutsu class each week, focusing on the jiu-jutsu and submission grappling he has learned over the years. Mr. Stoika remains committed to the Gracie Jiu-jitsu style, and the leadership Rorion and Renner Gracie have provided for the last several years. He hopes to re-introduce a Certified Gracie Program once he has retired from Federal Law Enforcement and can focus entirely on the martial arts.
His professional law enforcement background takes up a considerable amount of his time but he still manages to raise a wonderful family and contribute to the community at large. Currently Mr. Stoika is a federal law enforcement officer from 1998 to present. Prior to that he was a local police officer from 1994 - 1998 in the Chicago area, and notably a proud former member of the United States Marine Corps from 1988 to 1992.
As a weird coincidence of serendipity, when Mr. Stoika was attending the FBI Academy at Quantico, VA, Mr. Zingg was working at the Academy in the training division as a “role player”, pretending to be the “bad guy” the Academy trainees interacted with during the situational training sequences. Mr. Stoika and Mr. Zingg worked together on several training cycles, however, it was not until Mr. Stoika moved to Jefferson County several years later that he met up with Mr. Zingg again when he walked into his school to enroll his children for martial arts lessons. As coincidence would have it they recognized each other right away and the rest they say is history.
