Tenshinsho Jigen Ryu
Iaido and Kenjutsu Seminar
Master Doushin Ueno, the 29th soke
lineal heir of Tenshinshou-Jigenryu Style
The seminar was a great success. Participamnts from as far away as Huntsville, Alabama; Miami, Florida; Columbus, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia gathered together in the Spirit of Budo.
Flashing steel, the whoosh of splitting air, the heightened awareness just before the moment of kiai, and the tingle of electricity wqhen the technique comes together.
Ueno, Soke taught with enthusiasm, the lectures were filled with information which answered many lingering questions about training, history and technique. The talks at dinner and during free time about personal training stories, old history lessons, and the legacy of Tenshinshou Jigenryu left us all eager for more.
Unfortunately, it ended all too soon as they group had to return to Japan only two days after arriving. they vowed to stay longer next trip and we certainly hope they do.
Their next visit is tentatively slated for early December 2010. Stay tuned for further details.
